When you’re constructing a thank you letter after a job interview keep in mind the person who you’re writing the thank you letter to. A thank you letter after the job interview is very professional and the company will be impressed so if they were sitting on the fence about a second interview with you or whether to make you an offer this will put you above many of the candidates who did not send a thank you letter.
When you’re writing a thank you letter keep in mind the personality of the person that you’re sending it to. Based on your time with this person you should have a pretty good feel of what personality type they and tailor the letter based on how you feel that they will best respond.
Address any concerns that they may have had during a job interview and answer them in an honest and straightforward answer. Instead of letting them think about some of the negatives or the issues that might come along with hiring you tell them why you’d be a good fit for the company and how you can overcome some of the negatives.
Always use a thank you letter to sell yourself and your experiences and how you can fit in to the company’s environment and how you can add to it. If you take notes during the interview find out as much you can about the company and the culture and if you really have an interest in the job highlight your skills and how they can most effectively be used.
It is highly recommended that you always said a thank you letter after a job interview especially if you have an interest in the job. Many people do not use thank you letters and this should give you an edge in getting a job that you’re qualified for and that you have an interest in.
